Mrs. Rena Williams Obituary

Rena Williams, 83, was born on October 10, 1940 in Dorchester County,  to the late Laura Green Fogle and John Green. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, October 26, 2023, at her home in Smoaks, South Carolina.

She was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. In Smoaks is where she met and married her husband, Johnnie C. Williams.

Rena was a member of Greater Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Smoaks, South Carolina. She worked at Smoaks Manufacturing Company for many years. After leaving Smoaks, she became a caregiver to her nieces and nephews, babysitting their children. Her hobbies included picking at her family and making them laugh. She really loved her family deeply. She enjoyed spending time with them and taking part in their "raising." Rena was the type of woman that would tell you exactly how she felt and what she thought without biting her tongue. A Madea type woman for sure!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Laura Green Fogle and John Green; her husband, Johnnie C. Williams; her son, Johnnie Lee Williams; sister, Elizabeth Drain; brothers, Ernest Green, Louis Green and James Green.

Rena leaves to cherish her memories her children, Romenia Green of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Irene (Willis) Lolly of Padgetts, South Carolina, Richard Green of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Linda Gail Williams of Smoaks, South Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Stella Williams of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren whom she helped raise, Lakessha Green of Plainfield, New Jersey, Shawn Green of Jacksonville, Florida, Omega Green Gray (Kevin) of Union, New Jersey, Johnathan Risher of Ridgeville, South Carolina, Dominque Green of Elizabeth, New Jersey, William Cedric Lolly of Roxbury, North Carolina, these two,  she let everyone know that she "RAISED" Nijah and Isaiah Green of Burlington, New Jersey; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Carrie (Thomas) Behling of New York, New York; brother, Booker T. Green of Walterboro, South Carolina; three sister-in-laws, Rosa Lee Williams of Smoaks, South Carolina, Alberta Williams of Springtown, South Carolina and Daisy Williams of Branchville, South Carolina and a barrage of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
