Ollie Mae Sistrunk Davis, aka “Alice” was born on September 17, 1936, in Orangeburg County, the daughter of the late Rebecca Rowe and George Sistrunk. She entered eternal rest on Friday, September 25, 2020.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at Belleville Memorial Cemetery, Orangeburg, South Carolina at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. Ephriam D. Stephens, Eulogist.
She completed her elementary education at Carver Middle School in Cope, South Carolina and later graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Cope, South Carolina.
In 1958, Ollie Mae relocated to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and married Donald Davis on November 12, 1960. From that union came two loving children, Donald F. Davis, and Bridget E. Davis.
In 1970, Ollie Mae, determined to make a fresh start, by relocating to New York City, New York to be closer to her big sister Rebecca Sistrunk, who helped raise her two children.
In 1979, Ollie Mae returned to Orangeburg, where she resided with her brother (Isaiah) and sister-in-law (Wilhelmenia). She helped provide a warm and comfortable living environment.
Ollie Mae became a member of Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC, where Rev. Jesse R. Robinson was the pastor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rebecca Rowe, and George Sistrunk; six brothers, Eddie Dykes, Jim Sistrunk, Willie B. Green, Ellis Isaiah Sistrunk, Coleman Sistrunk, and Nelson Sistrunk; and a granddaughter, Shameeka F. Green.
She leaves to mourn: her husband, Donald Davis; one son Donald F. Davis, one daughter Bridget E. Davis, one sister, Rebecca Sistrunk, one brother, Lever Sistrunk, three granddaughters, one daughter-in-law, Missy Herring-Davis, two sisters-in-law, and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews other relatives and friends.
