Mrs. Tamika Shyenell Daniels-Chisolm, affectionately known to nearly everyone as “Penny”, was the third of 4 beautiful daughters born to the late Mr. And Mrs. James Daniels, Jr. on May 21, 1979. On Saturday, June 11, 2022, the Heavenly Father whispered, “my child, take your rest” to Penny and she obeyed, departing from her earthly life.
At an early age Penny was diagnosed with sickle cell disease, but she did not let that get in the way of her education. She was a bright and studious learner, who was loved by all of her educators! In 1998, she earned an honors high school diploma from Ruffin High School in Ruffin, SC.
On February 12, 2005, wedding bells rang as Penny was joined in holy matrimony to her loving husband, Mr. James Chisolm, Sr. of Green Pond, SC. To their union, a son, James Chisolm Jr. and a daughter, Amea Christine Chisolm, were born.
Even on the toughest of days, Penny fought through the pain to be the best mom and wife she could be. She shared words of wisdom and encouragement with her nieces and nephews as they grew up and gave her grand nieces and nephews all the love and snacks they could handle. Penny was described by many as a “SICKLE CELL WARRIOR”. She fought the disease and the many challenges that it brought with faith and humility. Her belief in Christ and his miracles was unwavering and she kept her small hand in his big hand, as he saw her through many trials.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Daniels, Jr.
The memories, life, and love of Penny will forever be cherished by her husband, Mr. James Chisolm; caring children, James, Jr. and Amea; her mother and father-in- law, James Brooks (Karen), Margaret Brisbon; three devoted sisters, Tera Brown (the late Willie, Jr.), Jaquetta Glover (Robert), Shyrell Logan (Jessie); sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Chisolm, Monteyo Chisolm, Lakesha Price (Robert), Eric Chisolm-Blakeslee, Katrice Brooks, and Latoya Brisbon; aunts and uncles, Johnny Washington (Mary), Betty Washington (Willie), Samuel Washington (Cathy), Tommie Daniels, Annie Ruth and Veronica Daniels; a special great aunt, Mother Lila Burgess; two devoted friends, Latrielle Goff and Linda Butler and a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Penny will forever be loved and missed by many near and far.
