Mother Thelma was definitely a woman of God. She attended and worked in several churches. She did enjoy paying tithes and offerings to God. She was the Mother of the church and served in other capacities. While moving through life, Thelma made a daily practice of worshipping her Lord and Savior. She joined Little Zion Baptist Church in Brooklyn New York under the leadership of Pastor Bryant. She served faithfully. She became a Missionary and took joy in being active with many churches. She often accompanied her God-sister, Minister Elder Bright on ministry engagements. She gained and nurtured many children with her heart and prayers. Mother Thelma loved the Lord. She was a free-spirited person, kind hearted and giving person. A well-known person, loved by everybody that knew her. Her favorite song was “How I Got Over.” She touched countless lives as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She felt that, “if she could help somebody along the way, then her living shall not be in vain.” After getting off from work, she would find neighbors sitting out on the bench and offer to buy meals and feed anyone in that area. Her heart was larger than her pocket. If she thought or knew there was a need, she would often lend a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Harley Green; two sons, and three sisters, Precious Lingard, Daisy Crosby and Lether Mae Breland; one brother, Gerald Williams.
Mother Thelma leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
