Timothy was ever-ready to join in neighborhood and family gatherings, uniting close friends and relatives. His dedication highlighted his deep love for family, community, and spreading joy through acts of service and kindness. “Booboo”, as we affectionately called him, 64 of Bishopville, South Carolina, died at Prisma Health Heart Hospital on Friday, February 23, 2024, encircled by loved ones.
Timothy was born in Bishopville, South Carolina, on August 7, 1959 to the late Evelyna Mickel & Ruben Blakney. Timothy was raised by his late maternal great-grandmother Rosa Moses, who cultivated his passion for nurturing family, cooking, and serving the community. Timothy attended school in Lee County graduating from Dennis High School in 1977. In 2018, Timothy earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Human Service from St. Leo’s University. He embraced the journey of learning, “Jack” of all trades with a passion for exploration.
Timothy was preceded in death by his cousin Bobby Moses. He is survived by his four daughters Annetta Benjamin, Tinikia Benjamin, Tanya Holloman, Deiondra Mickel, two sons Keno Slater and Owansa Benjamin. Timothy's children meant the world to him. Three bonus children, Shereza Middleton, Tyrus Mazyck, and Namon Mazyck. A deeply treasured and dedicated woman who Timothy embraced life with passion and love, Linda Mazyck. Two brothers Benny Moses and Lynn Blakney. Four aunts Mary Moses, Patricia Moses, Marylyn Brunson, Jeanette Gilliard. One uncle Tony (Diann) Harris of Philadelphia, PA. Twenty-three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two Goddaughters Mindora Moses and Mondreia (Robert) Moses-Buxton, beloved cousin James Moses, and host of relatives and friends.
May Booboo, soul rest in eternal peace, and may Booboo memory continue to inspire us all.
