Tyson Darrell Bomar

Tyson Darrell Bomar, age 47, of Walterboro, South Carolina was born on April 26, 1979, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to Lucretia Garrett and James Johns. He passed away on July 5th, 2026 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.  

Tyson attended the public schools in Colleton County. Tyson’s life was rich with love and connection. We choose to remember his creative drawings and his protective nature. Tyson had dreams of becoming a tattoo artist. The moments of connection we shared with him over the years. We take comfort in knowing that he is finally free, at peace, and no longer bound by the hardships of this earth. He was a devoted son, a caring brother, and a steadfast friend. Those who knew him remember his warm smile, and his genuine kindness. 

Preceding him death are his maternal grandparents, Joshua and Evelyn Aiken; maternal aunts, Diane Aiken and Eva Davis; Paternal grandparents, Evalena Johns and Phillip Singleton; Paternal Aunt, Tonya and Paternal uncle, Glenn “Mackie” Johns.

Tyson leaves behind his parents, Lucretia Garrett and James (Sheryl) Johns and bonus dad Gregory Bomar; his one daughter, Taniya Coppadge; his siblings, Denise Bomar, John Bomar, Schuyler Bomar, Brittany Johns, Olivia Johns , and Jonte Fryar; bonus brothers, Steven Davis and Trevor “Big Thang” Evans; Maternal Aunts and Uncles : Staretha Aiken, Pearl Davis, Dollene (Lee) Donaldson, Rickey (Sabeita) Aiken, Josh(Ann) Aiken, Roosevelt Davis; Paternal Aunts and Uncles: Phyllis Johns, Linda (Louis) Tate, Phoebe Johns, Harry Dean Johns, and Randy Johns and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends, all of whom cherished him dearly.
