Vergie Richardson Maynard, daughter of the late Hardy Richardson, Sr. and Amanda Richardson was born on December 4, 1951, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Vergie made her transition on July 15, 2021 at Roper Hospice Cottage, in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
She attended the Public Schools of Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School in Walterboro, South Carolina. On December 12, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, not long after finishing school. Later, she started working at Spic and Span Laundry Mat, Cato's and Colleton County Council on Aging where she worked with Senior Citizens whom she loved dearly.
Vergie was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Gant; and one brother, Hardy Richardson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of fifty years, Wesley Maynard, Jr.; three daughters, Felicia Maynard, Stephanie Maynard and Leslie Maynard (Raymond Frasier) all of Walterboro, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Tyler Maynard, Tyrese Maynard, Fontella Nixon, Felicity Nixon, Olivia Maynard, Nicholas Maynard, and Laila Maynard; one great-grandchild, Aniyah Maynard; four siblings, Vera Bowman (Joseph), Clyde Richardson (Agatha), Anderson Richardson all of Walterboro, South Carolina and Lisa Robinson (Tyrone) of North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Salley Richardson of Walterboro, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
