Vernon Miller, Sr. 74, was born to the late James and Perniece Miller on December 1, 1947, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Vernon "Yea Yea" Miller, Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Orangeburg Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina.
In 1968, Vernon moved to Brooklyn, New York where he met his devoted wife of fifty-three years, Thomasina Miller. In 1982, he moved his family back to South Carolina. He had a passion for cars that resulted in him starting his own business, "Miller Body Shop." He was known far and near for his work. He passed his love for cars not only to his son, Vernon Jr. but also to several young men in the community. Through his mentorship several of them went on to become business owners themselves.
Vernon was preceded in death by his father James Miller, loving mother Perniece Miller; beloved daughter, Sharita Hunt; one son, Bobby Miller and one sister, Josephine Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Thomasina Miller, one son, Vernon (Catherine) Miller, Jr.; three daughters, Natasha Miller, Lakenya Miller, and Erica Miller; eight grandchildren, Isaac Miller, Shaniya Hunt, Lydell Elmore, Navar Elmore, Indira Hammonds, Thomas Miller, Zykheem Stokes, A'Kasha Moore; one great-granddaughter, Alaya Miller; two sisters, Joan (Keith) Jeffrey and Salley Miller; one brother, Joseph "Tommie" Miller; one uncle, Glenn Miller; brother-in-law Johnny Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
