Mr. Wallace Junior Wells was born November 16, 1969, to Ms. OraBelle Wells Wison and the late Walter Fortune in Bishopville South Carolina. Although hearts were not ready, with a swift transition; Wallace departed his earthly life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at McLeod Health in Florence South Carolina.
He attended the public schools of Lee County and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1988. At an early age he joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elliott South Carolina.
Wallace was a very easy-going person, who would always offer helping hand. He was a loving, humble, and respectful person who you never seen angry. He had a great sense of humor, loved to smile, laugh and tell jokes. His smile would light up any room. He treated everyone according to the “Golden Rule”. Wallace was a “jack of all trades”, there wasn’t anything that he didn’t think he could fix. He was handy man for his mother and family. He was most recently employed with Melvin’s Masonry. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends; his children and grandchildren were indeed his heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter J. Fortune; a sister, Melinda M. Wells; granddaughter, Kailee Wells; two nephews, Shamar T. Wells and Albert Wells Jr.; Maternal grandparents, George and Dorothy M. Wells; Paternal grandparents, Sonnie and Mary Fortune.
Those left to cherish treasured memories are two Children: Latoya Y. Wells of Atlanta ,Ga. and Wallace (Shakayla) Wells of Sumter, SC; five Grandchildren, Jayden Wells, Kailyn Wells, Kailana Wells, Ezekiel Wells, and Kyrie Wells; his beloved mother, Orabelle W. Wilson of Elliott, South Carolina; four brothers, Marion Wells of the home, Albert Wells of Camden, SC, Melvin (Heather) Wells of Elliott, SC, Dyrell (Tiffany) Wells of Edmond, Oklahoma; three sisters, Christina (Joseph) Toney, Deloris Wells of the home, and Ogretta Wells all of Elliott, SC; three uncles, Sammie L. Fortune of St. Charles, SC, Lucious (Teresa) Fortune of Bishopville, SC, and James (Claudia) Wells of Elliott, SC; six aunts, Georgia Reames of St. Charles, SC, Annie (Robert) Moses of Dalzell, SC, Hattie F. Jackson of Sumter, SC, Evelyn (Harold) Harriott of Sumter, SC, Doretha Wells of Elliott, SC and Marie Singleton of Hartsville, SC; he also leaves to cherish memories a special cousin who was like a brother Charles Wells of Elliott, SC; a special friend Janet Wilson of Elliott, SC, and the mother of his children, Yolonda Robinson of Austell, Ga. He also leaves behind fond memories a host of cousins, great aunts, great uncles and other relatives and friends.
