Warren Jasper Sampson, lovingly known as "Fat," was born on August 5, 1952 to the late J.C. Sampson and Anna Belle Samuel Sampson. He entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2019 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. Home-Going Celebration will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Red Root United Methodist Church. Reverend James B. Grant, II, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment, Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
He was educated in the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Linden McKinley High School in Columbus, Ohio. He was employed at FT. Areo Space Center, a member of the United States Marine Corp. and loved to play Chess.
Warren was preceded in death by his first wife, Paquilla Sampson; his parents, J.C. and Anna Belle Sampson; his brothers, Rodney Sampson, and Anthony Sampson; his sisters, Cheryl Koger and Shirley Walker.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Debbie Caldwell Sampson; one son, Sir Jeffery Scott Sampson of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Warnzetta Clark of Dayton, Ohio and Brittney Chambers of Anderson, South Carolina; twenty-one grand children; brother, Larry (Penny) Sampson, of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Annette Sampson Murdaugh of Ruffin, South Carolina and Letitia Sampson of Smoaks, South Carolina; step-mother, Marie Sampson of Smoaks, South Carolina; two step-brothers, Bernard (Angela) Walker, of Ruffin, South Carolina and Johnny L. Walker of Smoaks, South Carolina; step-sister, Barbara Jean (David) Brown of Smoaks, South Carolina; four aunts, Louise Fryar of Ruffin, South Carolina, Annie (Johnny) Green of Ruffin, South Carolina, Ozene (Harvey) Fryar of Ruffin, South Carolina and Martha Thompson of Florida; one grand-aunt, Redell S. Fields of Walterboro, South Carolina; three special nieces that considered him as a father, Natasha Walker and Anessa Walker both of Charleston, South Carolina and Simone Sampson of Brooklyn, New York; one nephew, Kareem Walker of Charleston, South Carolina; four special cousins, Novice Briggs and Terry Sampson of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Gail Jones of Summerton, South Carolina and Carolyn Simmons Inabinett of Smoaks, South Carolina and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
