William Jerry Lolly, affectionately known as “Willis,” was born on June 12, 1959 in Colleton County, South Carolina to Jerry and Linell Lolly. He was the oldest of three children. Willis departed from his earthly life to his eternal resting place on December 6, 2024 in Berkeley County, South Carolina.
Willis was a graduate of the Ruffin High School Class of 1979. He also attended Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina. Willis was employed with Coastal Lumber Yard and Williams Lumber Yard as a Forklift Operator for over thirty-five years.
On February 14, 2004, he married, whom he referred to as “My wife,” Irene Green. Anyone who knew Willis, knew that he loved and didn’t play about his wife. Willis would act as if he was the only one in the world with a wife. To this union, one son was born, William Cedric Lolly.
Willis, often called, the “Mayor of Padgetts,” joined Evergreen Baptist Church as a child and continued to attend throughout his adult years.
Willis was passionate about yard work and gardening. He and “his wife,” enjoyed working together in their yard and listening to Southern Soul Music. He also enjoyed keeping his cars immaculate. He was also called “Chill Will” because he enjoyed hanging out with his “posse” who grew up as brothers: Marion Behling, Rondey “Peter” Behling, Jimmy Behling, and J.W. Walker “Pitt.” They were thick as thieves until the very end. He loved his grandchildren, whom called him “Pai Pai.”
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Byron Turner.
He leaves to cherish his legacy, his wife Irene Lolly of the home; his children, Adam Robinson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Shantelle Walker-Simmons of Augusta, Georgia, William Cedric Lolly of Roxboro, North Carolina, and a step-daughter, Lakessha Green of Plainfield, New Jersey; his grandchildren, Ireona Lynell Simmons, Ava Grace Simmons, Hova Amir Walker, Cristian Lamiere Lolly, Kylie Cimone Croom, Maya Sanders and Myles Dickerson; His parents, William Jerry Lolly and Linell Lolly of Padgetts, South Carolina; his siblings, Bridgette (Todd) Murdaugh of Lithonia, Georgia and Cathy Turner of Summerville, South Carolina; his sisters-in-law, Romenia Green of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Linda Gail Williams of the home; brother-in-law, Richard Green of Elizabeth, New Jersey; his aunt, Mary Behling of Williams, South Carolina and special aunt, Diane Behling of Padgetts, South Carolina; his uncles, Charles Behling of Padgetts, South Carolina, Thomas Behling of Bronx, New York, and Rogers Behling of New Jersey ;a special friend, Mckinley Carter of Padgetts, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
