William Henry Stephens, Jr.

William Henry Stephens, Jr., was born on January 28, 1976 in Colleton County, to the late William Henry Stephens, Sr. and Patricia Ann Gatling Stephens. He exchanged time for eternity  on June 21, 2020, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. 

Home-Going Celebration will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Walterboro Christian Center,320 Robertson Blvd., Walterboro, South Carolina 29488, Pastor Jadon Buckner, Host Pastor, and Reverend Reverdy C. Capers, Sr., Eulogist.  Interment, Old Miss Cemetery, Smoaks, South Carolina.  A Public Viewing will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

William attended the Public Schools of Colleton County. He graduated with the class of 1995 from Ruffin High School.  

He joined Bethel United Methodist Church at an early age.

William worked as a self-employed Sheetrock finisher and was skillfully excellent at his craft. He loved racing, fishing, and all areas of construction. William really loved his family, especially 'Ma', as he affectionately called his mother, and had a special love for each of his children.

William would visit his mother daily often asking her, "Ma', what did you cook?, "Ma', can I use your truck?" For those of you who knows his mother, Patricia, you already know what her response would be. LOL!

William was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Stephens, Sr.; aunts, Retha Bell Davis, Haveline Stephens Linder, Christine Stephens Kelly, Diane Stephens, Lizzie Lou Stephens, Patricia (Monk) Stephens, Carolina Stephens, Shelia Simmons, Gracie Simmons; uncles, Julius Stephens and Roosevelt Williams, and a host of other great aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his special memories, his beloved mother, Patricia Ann Gatling Stephens of  Smoaks, South Carolina; his siblings, Patrick Stephens, Smoaks, South Carolina, Tony Stephens of Summerville, South Carolina, Cathie Linder (Robert) of Smoaks, South Carolina, Rochelle Stephens of Charleston, South Carolina, Reverend Dr. Ephriam D. Stephens of Walterboro, South Carolina; aunts, Linda Hiers (Isaac), Juanita Gatling, Darlene Simmons, Gwendolyn Simmons, Louvenia Simmons, Idella Simmons, Tracey Simpson (Matthew), Earthlee Chisolm (Oscar), Jennette Mosley, Juanita Williams, Netha Mae Stephens and Loretta Johnson (Kenny); uncles, Leon Stephens (Adlene), Reginald Gatling (Minnie), Thomas Simmons (Yvonne), and Willie Stephens (Vonetta); one great-aunt, Nancy Milton, Philadelphia, PA; two special friends who he loved dearly, Samantha Cook and Mary Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends who loved William.
