Mr. Willie B. Henderson was born on February 12, 1948, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to the late Stephen B. Henderson and Edna Ruth Adams Henderson. He answered the voice of the Heavenly Father to leave his earthly home to enter into the gates of his new resting place on Thursday evening, April 16, 2026.
At an early age, he became a member of Oakman Branch Baptist Church where he worshipped and served faithfully until his health failed. His service to his church included singing on both, the mass choir and male chorus, and was a Trustee Board member of OBMBC.
Willie B. was educated in the Colleton County School System, graduating with the 1966 class of Ruffin High School. Furthering his professional career, he became employed at Asten-Hill Dryer Felt Company until he relocated to New York at the age of 18. Other professions included commercial/residential painting, supervisory customer service positions, and retiring from a sanitation company in New York after 20 years of dedicated service.
Willie B. Henderson loved his family and was fun-loving. He was very wise and purposeful concerning his position in life and wanted those around him to be good stewards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen B. and Edna Ruth Henderson; two brothers, Allen Henderson and Jerry Lee Henderson.
Willie B. Henderson leaves countless memories to Elizabeth Henderson, his wife of 30 years; three sons, B. Anthony Myers, Siran (Sherrell) Henderson, and William Henderson, Jr.; his five daughters, Tammerra (Jerome) Williams, Ebony (Jerome) Rivers, Tammica Henderson, Rose Mary Henderson, Tamara Henderson, and Tammere Henderson; grandchildren, Renee Williams, Shenee Williams, Daishauna Williams, Siran Henderson, Jr., Chauncey Henderson, Chailyn Henderson, Shiloh Rivers, Lavender Rivers, Jayden Barne, and Morowa Westray; great-grandchildren, Kasey, Kamrin, Jayden and Peyton Williams; siblings, Theodore (Audrey) Henderson and Gloria (Oliver) Campbell; A sister-in-law, Sheldonia Henderson. He will be deeply missed by a host of extended family, friends, and the Oakman Branch Community.
